AC Transit has announced the closure of several bus stops along Fremont Boulevard in Dublin, effective from September 25 through October 31, 2026, impacting Line 231 in both directions. The closures, which affect multiple stops between Adams Avenue and Crestwood Street, are due to ongoing construction in the Fremont area and will significantly disrupt local residents and commuters in Dublin, Pleasanton, and Livermore.

The closure of these bus stops will have a substantial impact on daily riders who rely on public transportation for their commutes to work, school, and other essential destinations. Many residents and businesses in the Tri-Valley region depend on these stops, and the disruption could lead to longer travel times and inconvenience. Commuters are advised to plan their routes accordingly and use the alternative stops provided to minimize delays.

This is not the first time AC Transit has had to adapt to external construction projects. Historically, the agency has worked closely with the city council and local transit authorities to minimize disruptions and provide alternative routes for affected riders. The current closures are part of this ongoing collaborative effort to ensure that public transportation remains accessible despite ongoing construction. The city council and transit authorities have a history of working together to address such issues, ensuring that the community remains connected and informed.

Specifically, the stops closed toward Milpitas BART include Fremont Blvd. at Adams Ave. and Fremont Blvd. at Crestwood St., among others. Riders heading in this direction can use alternative stops at Fremont Blvd. at Washington Blvd., Carol Ave., Delaware Dr., or Doane St. For those traveling toward Fremont BART, stops at Fremont Blvd. at Doane St., Crestwood St., Michael Ave., and Adams Ave. are closed, with alternative stops available at Fremont Blvd. at Montrose Ave., Delaware Dr., Blacow Road, Carol Ave., and Irvington Ave. AC Transit advises riders to plan their routes accordingly and use the alternative stops provided.

AC Transit will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as necessary. Residents and commuters can stay informed by checking AC Transit's website or contacting their customer service at (510) 865-7700 for the latest information on service changes and alternative routes. The agency encourages the community to remain patient and flexible during this period of construction and to utilize the resources provided to navigate the changes effectively.
