Fremont Chamber members get a free cybersecurity webinar on Oct. 15

The Fremont Chamber of Commerce will hold a free cybersecurity webinar for its members at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 15. Cybersecurity staff from Comcast Business will present.
The session is built around the 2026 Comcast Business Cybersecurity Threat Report, which the company says drew on 34.6 billion cyber events. Within that total the report counted 4.7 billion phishing attempts and 9.7 billion drive-by compromise attacks.
The chamber said presenters will name the threats they consider most serious right now — including attacks that use artificial intelligence, phishing and identity theft — and then work through steps a business can take to tighten its own defenses.
The webinar is free to chamber members, and members register through the link in the chamber's announcement. The chamber has not said which platform the session will run on, or how long it will last.
Fremont's small employers are the audience. Drive-by compromise, the largest category in the report, describes a machine infected by loading a web page rather than by anyone opening an attachment.
