Hayward cancels its Sept. 24 Planning Commission meeting

The Hayward Planning Commission will not meet on Thursday, Sept. 24. The city posted the cancellation on Sept. 18. The next regular Planning Commission meeting is scheduled for Oct. 8.
That leaves a gap in the body that handles a good share of what gets built in Hayward. The commission holds public hearings and decides use permits, variances, site plan and architectural reviews, and related planning and zoning actions for residential, commercial and industrial projects, along with subdivisions of land. It also makes recommendations on planning regulations, design review policy, parks and open space, and the General Plan.
The city's notice does not say what was on the Sept. 24 agenda, or when the items that would have been heard come back.
For anyone tracking a project or planning to speak on one: agendas and staff reports post ahead of each meeting on the city's meetings and agendas center, and the Oct. 8 agenda is the next one to watch.
