Bars, cafes, and community gathering spots across Oakland, Alameda, Antioch, San Francisco, and San Jose opened early Thursday morning, October 29, 2026, for the 9:30 a.m. Pacific Time (12:30 p.m. Eastern) with Valkyries leading 3-2 tip-off of WNBA Finals Game 6 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, where the Golden State Valkyries can clinch the league title against the Atlanta Dream.
As reported by NBC Bay Area's Alyssa Goard and KTVU FOX 2's Zak Sos, the league scheduled Game 6 for 12:30 p.m. Eastern (9:30 a.m. Pacific) due to an arena scheduling conflict with the NBA's Atlanta Hawks, with the game broadcast across USA Network, E!, SYFY, and Peacock. If a Game 7 is needed, both teams will return to San Francisco on Oct. 31.
Oakland, Alameda & Regional Watch Party Venues
In Oakland, the venues opening early to show the game include El Barrio, Oakland Athletic Club, Xingones, Kingfish Pub, Golden Ratio, The Lumpia Company, Understory, and Nido's Backyard. At Xingones in Jack London Square, bartender Jose Guerrero told KTVU FOX 2 that the restaurant prepared a breakfast menu of egg sandwiches, breakfast burritos, and a top-selling specialty cocktail called "Purple Rain".
Elsewhere in the East Bay, Park Station in Alameda and Monica's Riverview in Antioch opened their doors for the morning broadcast, while fans LaToya, her son Ty (who arrived at 9 a.m.), Bee Billagram, and Laura Hitgins shared their excitement—and frustration over the non-prime-time slot—with KTVU FOX 2. Across the bay in San Francisco, watch party locations include Thrive City outside Chase Center (the official free outdoor watch party), Hi Tops Sports Bar, Mother, Al Pastor Papi, Victory Hall, and Rikki's Women's Sports Bar in the Castro, where co-owner Danielle Thoe prepared biscuit breakfast sandwiches, vegan egg breakfast sandwiches, and "Violet's waffles" topped with blackberry compote and purple-dyed mascarpone crème. In San Jose, Spark Social San Jose, Nirvana Soul Coffee, and Jack's Bar also hosted morning watch parties.
Fremont Neighbors File More Than 25 Noise Complaints Over Temple Events
In Southern Alameda County civic news reported by NBC Bay Area's Pete Suratos, Fremont residents living near a local Hindu temple have filed more than 25 noise complaints over amplified sound past the 9 p.m. cutoff with city code enforcement over the past year.
Neighbors, who asked to remain anonymous, shared footage with NBC Bay Area of noisy events during school hours as well as a permitted special event last week where amplified sound continued past the 9 p.m. cutoff. City staff met with neighbors and temple representatives in July to discuss concerns and confirmed they are reviewing the complaints from last week's event, stating that staff will continue coordinating with the temple and adjacent neighbors, monitoring activities, and adjusting future permitted activities as appropriate.
