The City of Fremont kicked off its 15th annual Manufacturing Week on Tuesday, highlighting a municipal economic portfolio that now boasts more than 900 hardware, semiconductor equipment, automotive, and biomedical manufacturing companies. Speaking from an advanced robotics manufacturing campus in the Warm Springs Innovation District, Fremont city officials emphasized that the city generates more than one of every four advanced manufacturing jobs in the entire San Francisco Bay Area.

Municipal economic development records indicate that Fremont manufacturers employ over 35,000 skilled workers across 40 million square feet of industrial floor space. Throughout the week-long celebration, over 500 local high school and community college students from Fremont Unified and Ohlone College will participate in guided factory floor tours at facilities including Tesla, Bloom Energy, and regional medical device innovators, exploring modern apprenticeships in robotics, precision welding, and industrial automation.

Fremont Mayor and council members noted that strategic capital investments in high-capacity electric substation infrastructure, accelerated permitting timelines, and transit-oriented zoning around the Warm Springs BART station have attracted $1.4 billion in private industrial capital over the past 24 months. Regional economic analysts highlighted Fremont as California's foremost hardware manufacturing engine, bridging Silicon Valley software research with physical industrial production.

Business owners, job seekers, and students can view the comprehensive Fremont advanced manufacturing map, workforce apprenticeship portals, and factory tour schedules online at fremont.gov. Company executives interested in industrial expansion permits or clean-tech tax incentives may contact the Fremont Economic Development Directorate Monday through Friday at (510) 284-4000. Manufacturing Week events culminate with an executive technology symposium on Friday afternoon.
