Napa County Issues Secured Property Tax Notices Funding Rural Wildfire Defense and Road Upgrades
Treasury department sends annual statements across Napa Valley, allocating crucial revenue for volunteer fire stations, paramedic response, and viticultural land conservation.

Napa County Treasurer-Tax Collector Robert Minahen announced on Tuesday that official secured property tax statements for the 2026-2027 tax year have been delivered to postal sorting facilities for delivery to parcel owners across Napa, Yountville, St. Helena, Calistoga, and American Canyon. Working from the county administration headquarters on Third Street in downtown Napa, treasury officials confirmed that the first installment deadline is set for November 1, with payments becoming delinquent if not remitted by December 10.
Property tax revenues collected across the county provide indispensable operational funding for Napa County Fire Department stations, rural emergency medical services, road resurfacing programs, and agricultural watershed monitoring across Napa Valley. County officials pointed out that secured tax levies support municipal libraries, public school districts in Napa and Calistoga, and vital brush-clearing teams maintaining fuel breaks along vulnerable rural ridgelines.
The treasurer's office expanded its multi-channel payment portal, enabling vineyard owners, commercial property managers, and residential homeowners to schedule automated ACH debit payments, remit credit card payments, or access digital tax stubs 24 hours a day. Taxpayers wishing to pay in person can visit the Third Street public counter or utilize the 24-hour curbside drop box located outside the county building.
Napa County parcel owners, agricultural land managers, and residents can view detailed parcel tax breakdowns, check assessment roll values, and calculate payment amounts online at countyofnapa.org/treasurer. Inquiries concerning property tax billing, hardship deferrals, or homeowner exemption verification may be directed to the Napa County Tax Collector office Monday through Friday at (707) 253-4320. State law requires a mandatory 10 percent late penalty on all accounts unpaid after December 10.
