Student performers and stage crew members at Piedmont Middle School will bring Disney winter enchantment to life when they present Frozen JR at the Alan Harvey Theater in Piedmont. Running from Friday, October 23 through Sunday, October 25, the ambitious youth musical production represents months of creative rehearsals and theatrical training in the East Bay near Oakland. Sixty middle school students are participating as cast members and technical crew under the guidance of the Piedmont Unified performing arts faculty in Alameda County.

The production offers a vibrant cultural highlight for families, theatre enthusiasts, and young children eager to experience live musical performance in an intimate civic venue. For participating middle school students, the theatrical experience builds lasting confidence, collaborative teamwork, and vocal performance skills. Community leaders noted that youth performing arts productions strengthen civic pride, bringing together generations of Piedmont and East Bay residents to celebrate student creativity and artistic achievement.

The Alan Harvey Theater has served as a central hub for Piedmont community arts and educational drama since its modern reconstruction and official reopening. Built to state-of-the-art acoustic and lighting specifications through voter-approved school bond measures, the venue routinely hosts district productions, musical recitals, and regional civic events. School administrators commended the performing arts department and parent arts boosters for ensuring that comprehensive musical theatre remains accessible to all public school students.

Performances begin on Friday, October 23 at 7:00 PM, followed by two weekend showings on Saturday, October 24 at 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM, and a concluding matinee on Sunday, October 25 at 2:00 PM. Based on the 2018 Broadway musical featuring memorable scores by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, the show includes five original stage songs and runs approximately seventy-five minutes with an intermission. General admission tickets cost $15, while student tickets are priced at $10, with door purchases subject to a $2 surcharge payable by cash or check to PUSD.

Advance tickets can be reserved online through the Piedmont Unified performing arts box office, with remaining seats made available at the door thirty minutes prior to curtain call. District officials recommend that patrons arrive early to secure street parking along Magnolia Avenue and adjacent neighborhood roadways. Families seeking additional ticketing assistance or accessibility accommodations are encouraged to contact the school drama department directly. Following the closing Sunday matinee, the drama department will begin preparations for its upcoming spring theatrical showcase.
