Pittsburg holds a hearing Monday on Island Energy rate changes

The hearing is the point at which the proposed rates are formally presented to the board, and it is the meeting a customer would attend to hear the numbers and speak to them. Pittsburg Power Company is a city department, listed alongside the water department, public works and finance on the city's own directory.
The city gave nearly two weeks' notice, posting the announcement on Aug. 4 along with a formal Notice of Public Hearing and the hearing materials on its website.
The city's announcement does not state how much rates would change, which customer classes would be affected, or when any new rate would take effect. Those figures are in the hearing documents the city posted rather than in the notice itself, so a customer who wants the numbers before Monday evening should open the notice on the city website.
The address is Pittsburg City Hall on Civic Avenue, the same building that houses the city clerk's office.
