Pop artist and DJ Rebecca Black is headlining a sold-out, all-ages concert at San Francisco’s historic Castro Theatre, 429 Castro St., celebrating her self-released sophomore album Age of the Exhibitionist and marking 15 years since her viral debut single “Friday,” while a new ZIP-code-level analysis of Facebook’s Social Connectedness Index shows that residents of the Castro, Marina, and Haight maintain San Francisco’s most extensive out-of-state social networks, according to two reports published Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2026, by Hoodline (Castro Theatre preview by Emily Johnson and Social Connectedness Index report by Tony Ng).

Age of the Exhibitionist Marks 15 Years Since “Friday” at 429 Castro St.

Fifteen years after uploading her now-Platinum debut single “Friday” to YouTube at age 13, Black arrives at the Castro Theatre following her 2023 debut LP Let Her Burn, a Boiler Room debut, and an opening run on Katy Perry’s Lifetimes tour, according to event presenter apeconcerts.com.

Self-released and out now, Age of the Exhibitionist features lead tracks including “Speakerphone,” “Hot Wet Delirious,” “Michael,” and “Anaheim Star,” produced with collaborators Nightfeelings, Oscar Scheller, and atlgrandma. While Pitchfork described the record as a shift from hyperpop toward smoother dance-pop and electro-pop, Out highlighted the project’s genre range and openness after Black came out in 2020.

“Artists lose grip on who they are or what they’re meant to be just because they’re trying to recapture that number,” Black told Billboard in a retrospective on the 15th anniversary of “Friday,” which noted her collaborations with Slayyyter, Dillon Brady, Dorian Electra, and Big Freedia. Alongside the sold-out show at 429 Castro St., Black is releasing a metallic gold vinyl gatefold edition of Age of the Exhibitionist with an exclusive poster scheduled to ship in early November 2026 via rebeccablack.co.

Social Connectedness Index: Marina, Castro, and Haight Lead Out-of-State Ties

In a separate neighborhood analysis reported by Hoodline from San Francisco Chronicle data, researchers examined Facebook’s Social Connectedness Index (SCI)—an NYU Stern working-paper dataset updated Jan. 25, 2026, that divides the number of Facebook friendship links between two ZIP codes by the product of their user populations.

Comparing each San Francisco ZIP code against the citywide average, the analysis found:

  • Most Connected Outside California: Residents of the Marina, the Castro, and the Haight have the highest relative probability of Facebook friendships with people living in other states, with wealthier San Francisco ZIP codes generally showing more out-of-state connections. Nationally, San Francisco users were more likely to have friends in New York City’s West Village than in any other location outside California, along with strong ties to Cambridge, Massachusetts.
  • Most Local Ties: Residents of Bayview-Hunters Point, Visitacion Valley, and Ingleside keep the highest concentration of their social connections close to home. Within the city, the Marina was most connected to North Beach and least connected to Bayview-Hunters Point, while San Franciscans overall were more likely to be friends with residents of other Bay Area counties than with Californians outside the region.
