Northern and Southern California businesses unveiled new industrial automation systems, diagnostic tools, and customer training guides this weekend, led by Santa Rosa paint-booth manufacturer Platinum Finishing Systems (PFS) at FABTECH 2026, according to announcements published in the Castro Valley Forum.
Santa Rosa’s Platinum Finishing Systems Showcases FANUC Robotic Paint Booth
Founded in 2014 and headquartered at 1400 Airport Blvd in Santa Rosa, Platinum Finishing Systems (PFS) exhibited two Santa Rosa-built systems at Booth S13053 during FABTECH 2026 in Las Vegas, according to company president Chris Hluz:
- Orion-R Robotic Open-Face Paint Booth: Equipped with a FANUC paint-spraying robot, light curtains, area scanners, and interlocks meeting ANSI/RIA R15.06 standards, the cross-draft booth is built to NFPA 33 standards, ETL-listed for the United States and Canada, and paired with a UL 508A certified PFS Core Control Panel featuring spray, flash, and cure modes.
- Nova Spray-to-Waste Powder Coating Booth: Designed for rapid color changes in batch operations and job shops, the non-recovery booth captures overspray in a 3-stage filtration system (sacrificial pre-filter pad, pleated media filter, and deep-pocket bag filter) and returns filtered air directly to the facility without requiring an exhaust stack. PFS ships to all 50 states and is scheduled to exhibit next at FABTECH Mexico in Monterrey on May 4–6, 2027 (Booth 3612) and FABTECH 2027 in Chicago on Sept. 13–16, 2027 (Booth D40145, a 20x50 island booth).
Southern California Business Tools and Consumer Guides
Three Southern California businesses also released new operational and consumer resources covered in the Castro Valley Forum:
- Long Beach Showroom Scorecard: Long Beach marketing agency Cabinet Boost, led by founder and CEO Sezgin Arslan, launched the Empty Showroom Diagnostic, a free 12-question online scorecard that takes under 3 minutes and assigns kitchen, bath, and cabinet showrooms an A-to-F grade across 4 dimensions: online visibility, lead response speed, conversion quality, and attribution.
- Laguna Niguel Martial Arts Curriculum Guide: In Laguna Niguel, Optimus Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu owner Professor Grant Collins published a student and parent guide and video detailing how the academy's attendance card and belt-rank system evaluates mat consistency (recommending two to three sessions per week for beginners), technical growth, positional awareness, and partner safety across white, blue, purple, brown, and black belt stages.
- Fountain Valley Culinary Guide: In Fountain Valley, Istanbul Grill California founder Okan Ustun published a 4-step illustrated guide to Turkish baklava tracing the pistachio and yufka-layered pastry to Istanbul's Ottoman-era Topkapi palace kitchens and Gaziantep, alongside home storage tips (up to 1 week at room temperature or 3 months frozen). The restaurant at 18010 Newhope St serves pistachio baklava, sutlac, and keskul daily from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m.
