What Fremont's business groups have been doing this month
Connect 2 Succeed meets the second and fourth Thursday at 11:45 a.m. on Warm Springs Boulevard. Plus Odoo, a Leadership Fremont reunion and Kiwanis.
The easiest of the Fremont Chamber of Commerce's business groups to walk into is Connect 2 Succeed, which meets the second and fourth Thursday of each month at 11:45 a.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn Fremont, 45976 Warm Springs Blvd. It is a referral club open to chamber members, and the chamber encourages anyone thinking about joining to sit in on a meeting first. Here is what the chamber's groups did over the past two weeks.
Connect 2 Succeed, Sept. 10, Hilton Garden Inn Fremont. Sandy Okamoto, a style and wardrobe consultant with more than 25 years in the work, spoke on what she calls the importance of looking your best, built around a five-point method for putting together a personal style. Her practice is Style Options by Sandy.
Business Masterminds, Sept. 4, Hilton Garden Inn. Ivan Chavez, a business advisor with Odoo, walked through the open-source enterprise software suite — more than 80 core modules and a community app store of over 40,000 applications covering sales, inventory, manufacturing, invoicing, accounting and payroll. His pitch was aimed at small and midsize firms still running on spreadsheets and basic bookkeeping software: one shared database instead of four disconnected ones, a free community edition, and a rule that lets a business use a single app at no cost. Leadership Fremont reunion, Sept. 10, Hilton Garden Inn Fremont Milpitas. The chamber brought all 30 graduating classes of its leadership program back for a happy hour and introduced the newest cohort, the class of 2027. The program has been running more than 30 years.
Chamber and Kiwanis, Sept. 8. Chamber chief executive Teresa Hoang met with the Kiwanis Club of Fremont to hear about its service projects, scholarships and programs. The club was founded in 1955 and works across Fremont, Newark and Union City with youth, families and seniors. The chamber said it expects to work with the club going forward.
